Ridiculous
This air traveler is so concerned with the amount of plastic and paper goods used on a long flight (and heavens, it probably isn't getting recycled!), so said traveler makes the decision to bring his/her own eating/drinking supplies on the next flight:
The next time I fly, I'm going to take more personal responsibility for my potential discards. I will bring an empty bottle (BPA-free of course) or two through security to fill with water at a drinking fountain. I will pack my own meals in reusable containers. I will bring a few cloth napkins and wooden utensils. There is plenty of room in my carry-on for these items, my conscience will be clearer, and my meals healthier. I will also be able to clear my own seat-back tray and not have to wait with piles of garbage for the next flight attendant to come along with a big old plastic trash bag and plastic disposable gloves.
A commentor to the post says it far better than I ever could:

Indeed.

Notice how this is all about "intent"? No plastic cups were harmed during the trip or the writing of this post.
But next time? By golly, the writer is GOING TO DO SOMETHING!
Priceless Liberal Logic.

How do you know the guy is a liberal? Politics and environmentalism really don't have anything to do with each other.

How do I know it's a liberal? I think you probably directed that question at AmeriDan, but let me tell you why I think "B. Norlander" is a Leftie:
1. Vacations in Europe.
2. Lives in Seattle.
3. Writes for Amazon.
4. Lists interests on Profile page as: Biodiesel, Hybrid Cars, CFLs, carbon footprint reduction, as well as others.
If it walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck..
