An e-mail to Jason Linkins at Huffington Post.. +++UPDATE++

I just sent the following email to Jason over at HuffPo.  I'll update if I get a response.

Hi Jason:

 

Just curious if you'll amend your post to reflect that the scarf in question is not Sarah Palin's, but was given to her from someone in the crowd at a Reno rally?

If you click on the "caption" link on image 15, you'll see where the scarf came from.  If you look at the other images in the set, Palin is not wearing the scarf.

Embarassing?  Without question.  Was it a mistake by her wardrobe people, or Palin herself?  Hardly.

With all the misinformation surrounding both campaigns this cycle, will you stand up and correct the record?

I didn't get a direct response from Jason, but he did update his post with the following information:

UPDATE:
A blogger suggests that this scarf was given to Palin by "someone in the crowd at a Reno rally." A photo essay cited as evidence fails to provide conclusive proof of anything other than the fact that Palin was previously seen at this rally, sans accessories.

And for the record, I sent the following to Jason:

First off, you are a stand up guy.

 

I want to thank you for acknowledging on your post on Palin's scarf may have come from someone in the crowd.  I'd go a step further, and say that the caption pretty much proves it (as the caption was already there prior to the pictures of the scarf being circulated).

 

I'm sure we can agree to disagree on that.
