They had it all. This Whitesnake video shows the formula for the prototypical 80's hair-band metal video. First, you have the band, all with their massive manes in all their proud glory. Giant fans outside of camera view, blowing said hair in a cool, seductive way. You have the double-necked guitar. You have the smoke machine working overtime. A pouty-faced lead singer. The guitar guy with what JDJ and I called the "MTV Guitar Face" (it involves wrinkling the facial muscles when you hit those high notes during the solo, complete with gyrations). And most importantly, you have "Rock Slut", doing her dance and such throughout the song. Classic. All the elements are here, and played to perfection.
Whitesnake tossed in a twist at the end of the video, with the lead singer laying Rock Slut across the hood of a car. Regular viewers of Whitesnake videos in the 80's will recognize that car as the same one from another Whitesnake video.
Well done, Whitesnake. Well done indeed.
