It's quite simple, really.
Liberals are good at painting a broad picture of how things "should" be, but have problems getting those visions enacted (see "Health care, free"). Why is that?
Here's my take.
Liberals in D.C. are either lawyers or activists that have made it to the big time. Conservatives have mainly a business background.
Conservatives know how to take an idea, run a few focus groups, determine if an idea is viable, develop a plan, "sell" the idea, put the right people in place, begin implemantation of the plan, determine strentghs and weaknesses of the plan, make modifications, keep an eye on expenses, and run a successful operation.
The Liberal approach looks like this: Ready, Fire, Aim.
If the Left had ever run anything successfully, they would know that the sales cycle runs like this:
- The introduction of your product
- Establishing need for your product
- A "trial" close
- Restating the need for your product
- A strong close
All the Left has been able to do so far (effectively, anyway), is the first bullet point. Then they went straight for the close, which is failing miserably. Perhaps Obama needs to watch a few sales-oriented movies..
