Zients (Obama's Budget Director) also stepped in it earlier, when asked if the "fine" paid by those that don't have insurance under Obamacare is a tax or not. Zients said it is not a tax.
The only problem there? The Obama Administration is arguing before the Supreme Court that it is a tax. Obama's case hinges on the ability of the Government to levy taxes. It's not a fine, it's not a mandate, it's just a tax.
But then his Budget Director admits under oath that it isn't a tax. Of course, the President said that earlier as well:
