The much-hyped HBO movie "Recount", which details the events around the 200 election in Florida, was watched in around 1 million homes. Ironically, that total is fewer than the actual votes in question that the movie depicts.
From what I have heard on the radio-talk circuit (we stopped paying for HBO after The Sopranos ended), the movie has a definite Left lean to it. It has some inaccuracies in it, which leads the viewer to believe that Gore should have won. Again, I haven't seen it, just read/heard about it.
So HBO spent some money on a movie that most people don't really care about. Again.
