The day that Cash for Clunkers goes belly-up (after 7 days, mind you.), Rameriz comes up with a cartoon that shows another Obama program that will run out of cash right after it would get enacted.
Who would have thought? Make sure to follow the links in her post. And you Lefties wonder why we are skeptical of Government run healthcare saving money. Obama can't even sell cars without getting hosed. You think he'll save health care costs?
Rick Reilly takes the "Hey, look at me" crowd to task. Makes me long for the days of Barry Sanders. Every time he crossed into the end zone, he'd either hand the ball to a ref, or a fellow teammate. Felt it was showing up his opponents if he spiked it.
Personal story: I met Barry back in 1995. I worked for an NBA player in Detroit, and lots of the Lions would hang out at the place I ran. Barry would come in from time to time, very low key. He was by far and away the most polite professional athlete I've ever met. Would spend time with the high school and junior high kids, talking and signing autographs. Never saw him "blinged" out, drunk, or doing anything that would make you think less of him. Class act all the way.
Way back on June 10th, 29 percenterPikerand I made a little prediction on how Obama would be polling on the economy by the end of the Summer. I predicted Obama's disapproval numbers would be higher than his approvals. 29 percenterPiker had a somewhat more bullshit nuanced answer:
Me, I think the numbers will vary about 4 points on the average. The policy approval/disapproval spread will go no more than 4 points one way or the other. On the whole, I think more people will continue to approve than disapprove.
I was told that the elections of 2006 and 2008 signified the death of Republicans and Conservatives. How is then that the top non-fiction bestsellers on Amazon are written by Conservatives?
1. Michelle Malkin
2. Glenn Beck
3. Mark Levin
4. Dick Morris
Shouldn't we be seeing Obama's books in the top two slots? Nancy Pelosi? Maureen Dowd?
If Conservatism is dead, why are so many people buying books written by them?
Sorry for the lack of posts yesterday and today. Was out of town conducting interviews (did I mention I got promoted this week?), and had some personal business to attend to today. Not to worry, I'll make up for it.
I thought we weren't going to see a tax increase on anyone making less than $250,000 per year.
It's a well known fact that people living below the poverty line are obese. Now, there is talk of taxing the food overweight people consume. Isn't that a tax on poor people?
